Thank You and the National Air Force Museum

Thank You all for the kind words and prayers/good thoughts on Friday..It was a very trying day and I was mentally tired at the end of the day but after a rest I'm feeling much better. We will see what the future holds for our case.


On Sat. we decided to go on a day trip to the National Air Force Museum in Dayton OH. It was a long drive but we played around with DH's new stereo. The kids were pretty good on the drive, Abby thought we'd never get there..LOL..

We also saw an IMAX film, It was very good and the kids only got squirmy at the end. Here are some pics, the pics I took of the planes didn't turn out well, too dark in there :(











The last time we were there R was in a stroller and had a melt down plus it was cold and rainy, this trip was so much fun, he loved looking at the planes and we were able to walk in the park there and look at everything.

And the best part is...They SLEPT IN this morning!!!

Sad Day~ Away from the Computer

Today is a very sad day for me, Today I have to give a depo along with my sister about the death of my Dad. Without going into too much detail..Dad passed away in 2006 from a tragic accident at his work. I haven't talked about it much except for family but I'm feeling very old and sad. I'll be away from my computer for a few days and wanted to let my bloggy friends know.

Abigail's first Day of School!

Yesterday was Abigail's first day of K and first day on the bus! It was a rainy gross day but she still wanted to wear her new skirt. We got her on the bus and Crystal is watching over her, I'm a nervous ninny about Abby on the bus and didn't go to far from the phone in case something happened at school. While the kids were at school Tankers and I played blocks, cleaned his room and played with his cars..watched boomerang and I had a relaxing time stitching while he sat next to me. I have to say that he has such a different personality than Abigail..not loud and so far not very demanding...I think he missed his Sissy too!


Tonight we go to the school and have Open House, thank goodness they split it up in 1/2 hour intervals for those of us that have multiple kids.

It's still rainy and cloudy..I'm making home-made beef stew today and will let it simmer all day.

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

Leslie is away at a Fair but I'd Love to share what I've been up to still! It's a rainy Wed. here..I think it's remnants of TS Fay, It's gonna be a slow steady rain all day they said and boy it is gross outside!


Here is a fabric 1976 calendar that I found at a garage sale, It looks very Americana so I stitched it up into a pillow..Look at the vibrant colors!
Here is the back..It's so neat! I haven't seen very many of these made into pillows. Now to decide to keep or Etsy it..LOL..


Here is a goody box that I received from Katie at http://www.kateskountrykottage.blogspot.com/ She is changing her decor and I'm just starting out with Roosters so it was a win/win!! I'm still waiting on a very cute lamp that goes with the set, I will set it up on my counter and show pics after I get it.

Here is the wall that is giving me trouble, it's a big space and that stupid light makes everything look off to me. Onward with the Rooster search to fill this wall..LOL.. Thank You very much Katie! My kitchen is so much brighter today!

My Sad Sewing Corner

I have noticed that some of you ladies have Fab. looking sewing ROOMS with plenty of storage and COLOR!! I'm full of sewing room envy! My little sewing corner is in my basement, I have no storage except one cabinet and the color is bland puke green...no wonder I have no desire to start a quilt..it's depressing down here..At least with my Stitches I can take it anywhere..LOL.. Let's take a stroll thru ...NO Lets just stand and cry as we look and shake our heads...If you see or have any inspiration/thoughts PLEASE share!


My sewing machine is a White brand and has not given me any trouble so far..I like the simplicity of it..I have tons of batting/stuffing for my pillows...
DH's computer stuff keeps getting in my way...He always has spare parts around..Keyboards sticking out of boxes..SHEESH
I have my fabric in the wood cabinet there and my Etsy items in a clear box next to it. I have tried to make this corner as nice as I can...Doesn't look so nice in this pic..
Here is how it looks walking into my little corner..I even get a basement window! The walls are brick and that's why we haven't put up shelves..I'm thinking a nice yellow to brighten up the space? Maybe put this on HGTV and have someone come Fab. it up for me..LOL..

First Day of School

Crystal's first day of school was last Thurs. She was so excited she was up before my alarm went off! She is in the 3rd grade this year and she was told that in Science class they will disect? a frog this year...she is so grossed out by the thought but she can run all day and catch frogs down in the pasture...Silly!

I need to decorate my buffet for Fall now..I see pumpkins and scarecrows!

Hoe do you get the smell of burnt food out of your house? Please tell me that I'm not the only one that does this! I walked away and got distracted and look, this is not ghosts..it's smoke!! I have no more candles too, need to get a few more..sigh....

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

I have been busy hanging pics and organizing, I have this weird thing about hanging pics, I want it to be perfect and until I know it will be or get fed up I won't hang anything, I buy stuff to hang and it sits till the urge strikes...well...this week I have had enough of looking at bare walls in my house! We still have to finish painting but atleast the echo is less in here now! I love Americana and am trying to collect it and change out my non-Americana items, I slow process since funds are tight but I'm willing to barter my pillows and have asked around..so far I have gotten some Adorable items! So take a peek at my walls now!


Love how this wall turned out and you can see the yellow that we have started, It will go around the whole living room soon.
I added the hearts yesterday..the ribbin on the hearts matches the blue lampshade. Under the pics/hearts I'm waiting on DH to help me hang my Americana shelf.
Here is a sign that is on my list to get changed out, I REALLY want an "Pledge of Allegiance" sign in Blue...I'm on the Hunt...LOL.. This one will then move to my kitchen.
Here is my "Pay It Forward" that I got in the mail...ADORABLE! I'm fixing a fall basket and this little guy is going in it to sit on my buffet.

Update on Coffee~ After a rough day yesterday not feeling well she is running all over the house today and her ears are perked up! I'm having a blast taking her out every 5 mins. for potty breaks..NOT...LOL..

Tomorrow is Crystal's first day of 3rd grade! We are running out to find her a few new shirts later this afternoon. She is excited!

I was also able to run into town and get the girls haircuts for school FREE..There was a salon doing it for one day only for kids going back to school, no questions asked..Abigail sure looks so cute now, Crystal just wanted a small trim..she is trying to grow out her bangs..

~Our New Family Addition~

What a weekend, We did a bunch of nothing! Sat. I ran with my mom to an Antique store and browsed, I did find a cowbell to ring when the kids are in the pasture playing and then came home to a chicken BBQ. Sunday we lounged around and took a long nap..hence not being able to sleep now!

The neighbor's dog had puppies here recently and yesterday their son came over and asked if we wanted one, of course being the softies that we are we couldn't say no. We are not sure of breed, prob. a lab mix.

We have a Winner and a Sickie

We woke up this morning to C being very sick..took her to the ER to find out that she has a stomach bug..lots of clear fluids and meds...although I have no idea where she picked up a germ from since we haven't done anything..maybe just going into a store for a few minutes...We came home and rested, since she is feeling a tiny bit better I had her pull a name from my basket.


Even sick she loves to pose..LOL..

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

We have been crazy busy here this week, First our stove that came with the house stopped working..After pulling it away from the wall we found a burnt wire...very lucky that it didn't cause a fire! So after researching on the net the price of a new double stove to fit this space and gasping..We have decided to use our old stove that was in the garage...

Look at this little stove...so tiny!! DH says that he will try to build some sort of cabinet so that it fits better in the space...I have missed my stove..I love the flat stove top and the color blue!

We also had the Farrier out this morning at 9 am sharp to trim HOSS's feet..Good News..HOSS's thrush has cleared up and we are so happy!!
While Josh was here he also trimmed Pipen's tiny feet...Sorry not a clear pic but you can see her small hoof...Josh was laughing at the size difference between HOSS's and Pipen's feet.
Here's our Big Boy HOSS..He is so well-behaved!.. and I love how this pic shows off his shiny coat! It always fun when Josh comes to trim..lots of jokes and laughing and plenty of good horse stories.

Later today DH goes to get his MRI of his knee..He is trying to walk around without wrapping it.

TGIF

Well it's Friday 1:06 am..I can't sleep. I was over at my Moms and Sis's visiting and had a diet coke so I guess the caffeine got me. I dislike getting older, caffeine used to never bother me..LOL..

DH went to the DR's yesterday and had an x-ray..now the DR is telling him that it looks like he tore some cartilidge? in his knee NOT a ligament..Monday DH has to have an MRI and then the DR will talk about what needs to be done. The DR did not want to talk about options without the MRI so we are still unsure of what the next step will be. DH was told NOT to drive his car ( stickshift) because it could cause more damage to his knee. Now that means that he has to drive my truck which is a nice gas guzzler! MMM...Not looking forward to driving his car, I hate stickshifts!

I'm slowly working on my Willow Tree leaves...Maybe this weekend I can get some time to finish it.

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

Today is a hot humid cloudy day...and for some reason the power went out this morning and just now cam back on...Horrible when our power goes out cuse we are on a well and no power, no water! I'll make this short incase the power goes out again...LOL..

I'm finished with the trunk on the Willow tree and now I'm busy working on the leaves..It's taking me a long time for the leaves...I hope to work on it and have it finished by Friday..I have plans on staining it and turning it into a pillow and adding it to my Etsy shop! I'm loving the details, I was nervouse about starting this because of all of the details but I'm finding it relaxing!
My mom dropped a box of books off...I have read all of these and I'm going to go thru them and put some aside for my Future bookstore..I'm going to offer some on here but if you see one you want (if you can see..LOL..) just let me know. I'm working on these today because the box is sitting in my bedroom and blocking the doorway!
