Comment Spam?

I have been receiving tons of alarming spam so for now I have had to turn on Comment Moderation. I realize that some of you are not a fan of this but I hope that you will still take the time to say "HI"! I hope that the spam will pass me by in time and I can turn comment moderation off.

A 7 Star Finish....

I finished these 7 Star napkins up today for a swap. The color is Barn red. Since these will hopefully get a lot of use I left them stark white, just wash in cold and iron prim perfect!

And Then There Were 2 ....

Now doesn't this look nice? I'm still working on the placement of my Americana items on top but I'm pleased with how it fills up this large wall. I'm loving our new-to-us couches, yay CraigsList!

Just Wondering Before I Purchase....

Our new -to-us living room furniture, it goes great with my Americana decorations and I love the deep colors.

https://www.thecountryhouse.com/viewbycollection.asp?catid=123&name=Deerfield&coll=16
I love these for my kitchen, I have seen then at other country stores around my town too and would love to get the placemats. All these colors are in my dishes that I'm not changing any time soon.

We have a wide entry way from the kitchen into the living room so would these patterns clash or could I make it look country perfect?

I'm sorry I can't get the link to work for me :(

Prim Decorating Help Today Needed

Sorry this is the only pic of my really long wall I have today since DH took my camera with him. The wall that the couch is on is really long, I already have 1 peg board on it but want to put up another one on the other end of the couch..do you think that 2 different peg boards on the same wall is to much? I have new furniture too and will post pics after our tree is up.

I'm also looking for a sign for our bedroom that says "Always Kiss Me Goodnight", I'd love it in black with cream letters...Anyone out there can help me?

Happy Thanksgiving from Our Family to Yours

Happy Thanksgiving All!

This morning we are watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, eating donuts and drinking hot chocolate which is a tradition for us. Later I will start a small turkey breast and some fixings, not too much this year because DH is in Tennessee with his very sick sister who is still in the hospital.

I'm thankful for God, Family and good friends. I'm also thankful for my House, I love how the sun comes thru the windows and how it shelters us from the world some days.

Relaxing

After a grueling long drive home from Tennessee visiting DH's sister, getting in at about 3 am and having only 4 hours of sleep..I'm sipping hot coffee and browsing this lil sweet book. Tomorrow starts getting ready for Thanksgiving.

Please pray for Wendy as she goes in for more surgery today at 2pm..this is a biggy and will need a long hospital stay after wards. DH is with her today and will be on his way home after a few days to see how she is doing recovering in Hospital.

First Ever Easy Sew Skirts- Week 1

So since this blog is supposed to be about my Stitches I have set myself a goal of posting a project a week.

These are a pair of skirts I stitched together, so easy to measure the girls waist and straight stitch some elastic in the waistband. I had been putting this off for some time cuse I was afraid of messing it up. The girls are happy with their skirts and I'm happy I met my goal. I love the little pink roses!

Back Home

Wendy's surgery went very well, it was not as long as the Dr thought and it turned out to be a fairly simple fix. It was a bit of scar tissue from the radiation, the Dr sniped it and the lower intestine bounced right back into place, she is eating and holding foods down and yesterday she was able to get up and walk to the nurses station and outside for some fresh air, the Dr is slowly weaning her off the pain meds but she is no hurry to go home, she wants to feel 100% first. It was a Blessing to be there and cheer her up after surgery. I was able to go because my mom and DHs mom took the time to watch the kids and get them to school for us, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

While Wendy was sleeping after surgery that night DH and I found a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater, so very funny, more a comedy than a mystery. I had never been to one and I'd love to find another one around my area one day. The food was not very good but it was great to laugh after the worry and stress.

On the way home we stopped in Tennessee at "The Lost Sea Adventure". It's an hour long tour thru an cave which leads you to a underground lake. I was able to grab some pics and will post those in my next blog.

After being away for 3 days I have more laundry than I can handle in one day and I have to jump right back into Mommyhood which I'm finding is not so easy..Am I the only one that finds it hard after being away for a long time. How do you handle the transition?

SIL Surgery Tomorrow and Update

WOW, things can change is such a short amount of time..My SIL has been in the hospital with a severe lower intestine blockage and DH ran down for the weekend to sit with her and cheer her up last weekend, I stayed here with the kids. Last night she got home from the Hospital since she was holding down food. Today DH got a call that she is back in the Hospital and is having emergency surgery to remove the blockage tomorrow sometime..this is a scary surgery has they will cut out the blockage and reconnect the 2 portions of intestine together. DH might drive back down to Tennessee to be with family in the Hospital and I'll stay here with the kids since we have no babysitter. The doctor says that it is because of the chemo/rad. she has had for her cancer.

Please Pray for Wendy to get thru this!

On the homefront here the girls are doing Fab. in school this year, mostly Bs and Cs. We are so happy because last year was such a struggle for Crystal. Last Summer we made the decision to remove TV's from the kids rooms and have just one TV down in the basement for DVDs only as a reward. We also cut off cable (to save money cuse Richard was out of a job then)...It has shown us that it was a good decision for us as a family, Crystal is reading more and her people skills have improved. Abigail has made a A in math. This worked and is working for us but it might not work for everyone...The few shows that I do like to watch I watch on HULU and get new movies from the library.
I think I'll decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving..There is Christmas music on the radio here in OH already!

Thinking Christmas Yet?

DH wants me to ask when ya'll start to decorate for Christmas? Do you start the day after Thanksgiving or sooner?

We are getting excited and have started to listen to some Christmas music as we clean house already, It helps since it was so cold last night and will be very cold today here in Ohio.

Thanks for thoughts and prayers, I'm doing somewhat better this week so far!

More Medical Testing....More Waiting

I'm sorry that I haven't posted much of anything for some time now, I have been reading and keeping up with ya'll but have little energy to post myself.

Without going into too much detail..After being late for almost 2 months now and many HPT later I went to the DR yesterday to find out that NO I'm not pregnant...that it could very well be my Thyroid...which would be why I'm just to tired all day long and have no gumption to start a project of any kind. Being sleepy-headed sure makes it hard to keep up a house with 5 people, poor DH woke up this morning to find that his fav. pair of pants was still dirty and forget about cooking and then cleaning the kitchen afterwards for dinner, I'd just be happy with a bowl of cereal then head for bed. I'm doing what I can and trying hard not to complain...complaining gets you no where.

I did get 2 loads of laundry done today and traced out 27 bats for Abigail's class tomorrow. I'm working on a shopping list right now. I do a little and then rest..lil guy is reading a book in bed so I think I'm going to rest on the couch for a few.

I just wanted to update, I have enjoyed reading your blogs and love looking at your pics of Fall decorating!

What A Nice Weekend!

So on Sat. we worked all day out in the barn getting it ready for the Winter again, cleaned and swept up the cobwebs raked the floor to rid it of hay bits. We saw many a worm and found a lil nest of baby mice..She had the nest under our bag that we keep the used up wire that the hay is wrapped in. So the kids had a science class while helping Mom and Dad. Making good memories! We hope that this will be a better year for Hoss but he has started to favor his right front leg already...poor old guy! I fixed an big pot of Green Bean/Ham and Potatoe soup...It was so good after working outside all day. My back was very sore afterwards and I find that I'm not as strong as I used to be.

On Sunday we had Church and then we came home to lunch and rest time. I finally got that chance to sit down and Stitch! I'm Stitching some napkins with Dark Red stars, 1 big star on each napkin..Sweet!

I'm enjoying the new book I got and more than halfway done with it...too bad it's her last on one in the series.

Today I'm fixing a Roast in the crockpot, doing my household chores and trying to keep lil guy busy and not bother Crystal who is home sick with an upset stomach.

I'm loving the Fall weather and cooler temps...How is the Weather were you are?

Sorry no pics this post.

Mom's New Little Toy

The Asus Eee PC is a subnotebook/netbook computer by Asus and a part of the Asus Eee product family. At the time of its introduction in late 2007, it was noted for its combination of a light weight, Linux operating system, solid-state drive and relatively low cost. Newer models have added the option of Windows XP operating system and traditional hard disk drives. Newer models have also increased in price, though they remain relatively inexpensive as laptops, and notably inexpensive for ultra-small laptops.

According to Asus, the name Eee derives from "the three Es," an abbreviation of its advertising slogan for the device: "Easy to learn, Easy to work, Easy to play".

DH brought this home today since he also got one for his new job. I'm getting used to it, It's the cutest smallest thing evveerr!!

Have any of you seen these or have one? How do you like it?

I'm hoping to be posting more and finally picking up my Stitching again. This summer has been rough on us due to job loss and then loss of my vehicle. I still have no vehicle but the house is clean. DH is back to work and is settling in okay, we aren't liking the fact that he gets home so late again but it's only been 2 weeks. The girls are back in school and doing really well, lil guy is finding out that he CAN play without them.

I hope that my next post will be full of stitching!

My Fav. Author has a NEW book out and I Can't Put It Down

Diana Gabaldon,
the Outlander novels,
and An Echo in the Bone

An Echo in the Bone is the seventh novel in the wildly popular, NYT #1 bestselling, internationally award-winning Outlander series—described by Salon.com as "the smartest historical sci-fi adventure-romance ever written by a science Ph.D. with a background in scripting Scrooge McDuck comic books."

The striking thing on the cover is a caltrop (and not, as one wit suggested to me, a Celtic chicken-foot).

You see that the caltrop has four tines? Well, there are four storylines in this book, past and future, welded together by the heat of the American Revolution—and every one of 'em has a sharp point.

I love these books and was surprised when Hubby brought it home for me, this is her 7th in the series and I have all of them now. This Winter when we are snowed in I'll re-read them but for now I've got my nose buried in this one.

Have any of you read any of these? What do you think of them?

Sept. 11 2009 ~ We will always remember 8 Years Ago

I am praying for many families today, some are lost due to this tragic day and some are mourning. I just got done watching some video clips from this day with my oldest DD who is 10, She knew that something happened but not the whole story. Maybe the schools should talk more about this today?

I Just Couldn't Wait Any Longer for Fall..Fall on my Blog

It's Aug. 1st!! Now I like Summer but my fav. season has got to be Fall..Crisp air and snuggling in a sweater, warm candles in the house, fresh picked apples and getting the fireplace ready for a nice evening fire...NICE!!

What do you like about Fall?

Today I've spruced up my Blog and have deleted my Etsy site..It's not doing so great and so my crafts will become gifts..I feel okay about it..Etsy is full of prims now. Might close my Book Blog too as it seems to have not picked up any new interest..I'm okay with that too.

He Has His First Client!!!!

This morning my DH Richard had a meeting with a Funeral Director about Richard's new business and the outcome was wonderful! We are in business!! The Funeral Director will have AltarCall on hand for a year!

AltarCall will allow for those that can't travel for a funeral to call and listen to the service LIVE!!

Richard has already helped out a co-worker this way and the Family was so pleased with how it turned out for those that could not fly in for the Funeral.

What a July 4th Blast!!

We left early Friday morning for G'mas house, after a long 8 hour drive we arrived early and have been busy since! We went to the Space and Rocket Center and walked around outside cuse sadly the tickets to get inside were out-of-this-world expensive for a family of 6! We went to Aunt Kathie's for a BBQ pool party followed by the best fireworks I have seen EVER, everyone in her neighborhood were setting off fireworks and not the tiny ones that are allowed here in OH..the good stuff..lol..Lottsa good food,Good family and fun for all. We had one boo-boo where Abigail fell on the drive-way so they bandaged her up and got her laughing again. Crystal gets to spend a whole week with G'ma and I'm missing her already! We are home safe and I'm trying to get caught up on laundry. Here are some random pics of our fast trip!

Mail Love...

A few months ago I won a give-away on Cynthia's blog http://accomplishedwomen.blogspot.com I won these 2 Spring towels that she hand made and a Tomato cage that you grow the tomatoes upside down in. I didn't use the tomato cage/bucket this year but aren't these towels the cutest! Thanks so much and go over and take a peek at her sweet blog.

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

I'm so excited to share with ya'll our great country find on CL. I'm sorry the pics are so dark, it's rainy today and we usually relay on natural light in the living room. We decided against the other couch I shared with you, after thinking about it, it just wasn't our style, I love Americana and I was having a hard time picturing the couch mixing in. Yesterday this set appeared on Cl, Couch/love seat/chair and ottomen in our price range and fairly close to the house. Great condition! The chair/ottomen is a navy blue...I'm sorry the pics are dark..I'll repost later when the sun comes out and I've gotten everything just how I like it! Here's a before and after of our living room. We feel really Blessed as we got it home and in the house before the rain hit!

Not doing alot here but re-arranging and playing with the kids on this rainy Wednesday.
