Some Wed. Tweaking and a Sunday Drive

I have had this picture for awhile now and today was the day to hang it in our bedroom next too our closet, I'm going with a English/Equastian? theme..more pics coming soon.

I'm slowly finishing this kit, the button was missing in the kit but I have a cute one in my stash.

This past Sunday was a fairly nice day, meaning no snow/rain, so we went for a drive with really no destination in mind. We ended up in West Virginia at the Henderson Hall and took a tour of the plantation. I'm in love with the clothes and DH took a pic of my fav. dress and the table setting was so delicate! Here are some random pics that I'll leave you drooling over.

When A Woman Trusts God - Book Review

Delivering a big message with strong biblical insights and heartening personal stories, author and Women of Faith speaker Sheila Walsh shows women the life-changing power of trusting in God.
Most Christian women live with a deep sense that they can't seem to get things right, that if only they could be a little better, life would straighten out. Through her own personal hardships, Sheila Walsh has learned that the Christian life is not about getting things right or back to "normal." She writes, "Christ comes not to get us out of our difficulties but to live in us through them." She wants to show women that God has a stunningly beautiful moment of redemption for them that leads to a lifetime of peace and joy.
In this eye-opening message for women, she presents a moving look at her own story as she dives into the lives of Bible characters, drawing out lessons from their trials that women can use immediately to establish a deep, life-altering trust in the Father.

I have not read any books by Sheila Walsh till now and I'm blessed to have read this and grown some more in my Faith. I know this book can help those struggling with Depression and ease their mind. Some parts of this book did lose me and my mind wondered to my grocery list but overall I will recommend it to others.

This book was provided by Thomas Nelson for review.

Spice Tower Clean-Up and Decorating for Spring

This is a cute french country spice tower the my MIL found somewhere and has been sitting down in my basement for about 2 years now, I can't remember why it was sitting down there or what I had planned for it but today was the day for the clean-up! See the dust and very OLD STALE spices? YUCK!!! After soaking for awhile and washing and peeling the old labels off  It now sits on my counter looking so much better! I'm not sure if we will keep this cutie or I'll sell it, It's missing one bottle.

I'm so tired of snow and cold temps and today is the 7th day the kids are home, the girls went to school Monday the 8th then the snow moved in and we are under a level 2 snow emergency and it's deep outside!  I spent the morning setting up this cute vignette on my buffett. It reminds me that even if it's cold and we are stuck at home Sunny/Warmer days are on the way!

5 Days No School due to TOO MUCH SNOW!!

What do you do with 5 days (Monday is the 5th day) no school? You play alot!!! You clean if your a Mom too and that's just what we did. I started with Abigail's room and moved her desk to under her window and went thru her toys again..they must multiply at night under the bed!! I need to finish spray painting her dresser knobs purple. We are making do with what we have right now until we find the perfect furniture (i.e. AFFORDABLE) for this little princess. She was proud of her clean room and she loves to pose. Monday is Crystal and Tankers turn, I'm dreading Tankers room cuse of all his little cars!

I ran to Krogers before the snow moved back in and they were Tripling the coupons so I grabbed some fun stuff and some items that I rarely buy but was a good price with the coupon special. I had already put away the fridge items when I snapped this pic, I even received a 4.00 off coupon on my next shopping trip! It's a learning process for me but I do enjoy the challenge of saving every penny I can.

We had a little Birthday Party for Crystal, she turned 11!! She only wanted to invite her best friend over to sled down our hill so we had a little cake/ice cream and they played outside the rest of the time. It was a great Saturday!

The news says school is cancelled again for tomorrow, more cleaning and playing for us! Not sure if DH is going to try to make it in to work, We are at a level 2 snow emergency already and the snow is supposed to continue till 6am Tues.

Hope you are Safe and Warm Tonight Friends!

Plain Pursuit - A Review

When Carley Marek takes a hiatus from her job, she leaves Texas and visits her friend Lillian in Amish country, Pennsylvania. Carley isn’t there long when she meets Lillian’s charming—but shunned—brother-in-law, Dr. Noah Stoltzfus.
When Lillian's stepson is stricken with a life-threatening disease, Noah is forbidden to intervene, but he resolves to do whatever it takes to save the boy's life. Carley finds herself caught in the middle of her feelings for Noah and her loyalty to Lillian. And to further complicate matters, everyone around her is talking about God--a God she doesn’t know and who appears to be punishing her for her past mistakes.
When her hiatus is up, Carley must make a life-changing decision: stay and face the path that is set before her, or flee and leave the only love she’s ever known.

Book provided by Thomas Nelson Publishing.

I eagerly waited to receive this book and opened it up the night I received it. I love to get lost in a life of an Amish family and this took me to the farm of the Stoltzfus Family. It was easy to understand how Carley would get confused at many of the Amish ways, the most confusing would be the "Shunning". I too do not understand this practice, If the Amish are a very forgiving people then shouldn't they forgive the person and leave it up to God to make them see their mistakes?  I loved how outspoken Carley was in this book and she made her opinions known and ask many a question, even though the Amish do not do this. She is a strong character and I do like her, many of the Amish books I read about have English people in them but seem meek to me. When David gets sick I was scared for him...A disease that requires a Hospital stay and surgery for any 13 year old is scary but for it to be an Amish is worse. The outcome is surprising! Carley is holding in a huge secret that she is afraid to share, now I find this with most books..just say it people!! Talking things out is so much better for everyone in the long run, Right? Her love interest Dr. Noah has a surprising connection to the Stolzfus Family, which starts out being terribly problematic but in the end works itself out in a nice tidy way. The ending is sweet and full of warmth. I do recommend this book for light reading. I hope I haven't given too many details away, read it for yourself.

"Lost In Austen" and Welcome to Febuary-WWW Movie

Lost In Austen
Jemima Rooper stars as Amanda Price, the frustrated romantic who discovers a gateway in her flat to her favourite world - the world of Pride and Prejudice. But is the “true” story in danger of being thrown off track by her presence? Starring: Jemima Rooper as Amanda Price; Alex Kingston as Mrs Bennet; Hugh Bonneville as Mr Bennet; Elliot Cowan as Fitzwilliam Darcy; Morven Christie as Jane Bennet; Tom Riley as Wickham; Perdita Weeks as Lydia Bennet and Gemma Arterton as Elizabeth Bennet.

Have you seen this movie yet? I watched this movie and just fell in Love with the characters, clothes and the beautiful scenery! It was on my Netflicks instant download and it's about 3 hours long, it was a made for t.v. mini-series. The perfect movie for such a dreary, cold couple of months.

I wanted to Thank You my bloggy Friends for such kind words last month when we were going thru some Health issues, Richard is back to work regularly now and we are keeping to the Fish (Salmon) and rice diet for him as of now...wish there were more recipes for Salmon but I think I have them all. The kids are staying Healthy for now and I'm so glad for that, staying ontop of the bleaching and killing germs everywhere!

Last night we sold my non-working van to a mechanic...We have much needed cash but now I'm really without a car...My Mom is helping get me to the grocery store when she can and I do lots when Richard is home, Not sure how long I'll be without a car but God will see us through!

I'm using this home time to go thru the closets and clutter and get it out of the house, there is a local Thrift Store that does pick-ups and they just left with the first load, I feel so good about that!

Tonight for supper is home-made Pea Soup and Biscuits, Yum!!
