Thank You and the National Air Force Museum

Thank You all for the kind words and prayers/good thoughts on Friday..It was a very trying day and I was mentally tired at the end of the day but after a rest I'm feeling much better. We will see what the future holds for our case.


On Sat. we decided to go on a day trip to the National Air Force Museum in Dayton OH. It was a long drive but we played around with DH's new stereo. The kids were pretty good on the drive, Abby thought we'd never get there..LOL..

We also saw an IMAX film, It was very good and the kids only got squirmy at the end. Here are some pics, the pics I took of the planes didn't turn out well, too dark in there :(











The last time we were there R was in a stroller and had a melt down plus it was cold and rainy, this trip was so much fun, he loved looking at the planes and we were able to walk in the park there and look at everything.

And the best part is...They SLEPT IN this morning!!!

Sad Day~ Away from the Computer

Today is a very sad day for me, Today I have to give a depo along with my sister about the death of my Dad. Without going into too much detail..Dad passed away in 2006 from a tragic accident at his work. I haven't talked about it much except for family but I'm feeling very old and sad. I'll be away from my computer for a few days and wanted to let my bloggy friends know.

Abigail's first Day of School!

Yesterday was Abigail's first day of K and first day on the bus! It was a rainy gross day but she still wanted to wear her new skirt. We got her on the bus and Crystal is watching over her, I'm a nervous ninny about Abby on the bus and didn't go to far from the phone in case something happened at school. While the kids were at school Tankers and I played blocks, cleaned his room and played with his cars..watched boomerang and I had a relaxing time stitching while he sat next to me. I have to say that he has such a different personality than Abigail..not loud and so far not very demanding...I think he missed his Sissy too!


Tonight we go to the school and have Open House, thank goodness they split it up in 1/2 hour intervals for those of us that have multiple kids.

It's still rainy and cloudy..I'm making home-made beef stew today and will let it simmer all day.

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

Leslie is away at a Fair but I'd Love to share what I've been up to still! It's a rainy Wed. here..I think it's remnants of TS Fay, It's gonna be a slow steady rain all day they said and boy it is gross outside!


Here is a fabric 1976 calendar that I found at a garage sale, It looks very Americana so I stitched it up into a pillow..Look at the vibrant colors!
Here is the back..It's so neat! I haven't seen very many of these made into pillows. Now to decide to keep or Etsy it..LOL..


Here is a goody box that I received from Katie at http://www.kateskountrykottage.blogspot.com/ She is changing her decor and I'm just starting out with Roosters so it was a win/win!! I'm still waiting on a very cute lamp that goes with the set, I will set it up on my counter and show pics after I get it.

Here is the wall that is giving me trouble, it's a big space and that stupid light makes everything look off to me. Onward with the Rooster search to fill this wall..LOL.. Thank You very much Katie! My kitchen is so much brighter today!

My Sad Sewing Corner

I have noticed that some of you ladies have Fab. looking sewing ROOMS with plenty of storage and COLOR!! I'm full of sewing room envy! My little sewing corner is in my basement, I have no storage except one cabinet and the color is bland puke green...no wonder I have no desire to start a quilt..it's depressing down here..At least with my Stitches I can take it anywhere..LOL.. Let's take a stroll thru ...NO Lets just stand and cry as we look and shake our heads...If you see or have any inspiration/thoughts PLEASE share!


My sewing machine is a White brand and has not given me any trouble so far..I like the simplicity of it..I have tons of batting/stuffing for my pillows...
DH's computer stuff keeps getting in my way...He always has spare parts around..Keyboards sticking out of boxes..SHEESH
I have my fabric in the wood cabinet there and my Etsy items in a clear box next to it. I have tried to make this corner as nice as I can...Doesn't look so nice in this pic..
Here is how it looks walking into my little corner..I even get a basement window! The walls are brick and that's why we haven't put up shelves..I'm thinking a nice yellow to brighten up the space? Maybe put this on HGTV and have someone come Fab. it up for me..LOL..

First Day of School

Crystal's first day of school was last Thurs. She was so excited she was up before my alarm went off! She is in the 3rd grade this year and she was told that in Science class they will disect? a frog this year...she is so grossed out by the thought but she can run all day and catch frogs down in the pasture...Silly!

I need to decorate my buffet for Fall now..I see pumpkins and scarecrows!

Hoe do you get the smell of burnt food out of your house? Please tell me that I'm not the only one that does this! I walked away and got distracted and look, this is not ghosts..it's smoke!! I have no more candles too, need to get a few more..sigh....
