Ice Snapshots Around Our House

While outside feeding Hoss, who is warm in his stall, I walked around and took some pics, the sun is trying to shine..no warmth but still sun..lol..It's supposed to get down to 0 again tonight. I can't feed the bird's cuse the ice is covering the tops and my DH has to take the truck cuse he couldn't get out of the driveway, as you can see..lol..The driveway is almost blocked by hanging pine trees, the ice is so heavy! I love the pic of my Willow tree all covered in ice. The kids are home again and we are staying warm and coloring.










So far we have never lost our power. I hope that those that have no power gets theirs on soon, It's so cold outside and we have wind gusts up to 25 mph today.

Whatcha Working On Wed. ~ Snow/Ice Storm

This is what I hope to work on today if we still have power, It's a nice burgandy mirror that I want to clean up and paint on the bottom "Faith~Family~Friends" in a nice Tan color.





This is us today, level 2 Snow Emergency so far..Ice and now heavy snow..I'm hoping that the power stays on, there is no way I could drive us to my Mom's house in town. It's very loud outside as the wind hits the trees, pops and cracking.

I slid my way to the mailbox this afternoon and was so happy for some mail love, it's been a long day with the kids cooped up in the house. See how nice they look next to my antique Roseville OH pottery. I'm on the lookout for some more matching or close to it items.
I'd LOVE an all white tall rooster to set on my kitchen table..Any ideas of where I can find one?

Catch-Up and Coupons for the Military

Today the kids have no school because of the weather..SNOW and more FREEZING RAIN..UUGHGH..so I have C helping me cut out coupons. I have gotten into the habit of taking my beat up coupon binder with me at all times now. We were thinking of something to do with the coupons that I don't use..We thought we could send them to Coupons for the Military...Do any of you have an address or a way for me to look up some info on this..I have read somewhere out in blogland about this but now I can't remember where.



On Saturday we met my mom and sister at Olive Garden to celebrate my sister's 18th b-day party, We got the special treatment for her, the whole cake and Happy Birthday song..it was so much fun to surprise her and it was such good food!!



Early Sunday morning lil guy decided he was going to pick up our tom cat that was sleeping in the laundry room, this is his forehead after the attack, not sure how it happened but the cat freaked, Lil guy has a very bad scratch next to his eye which resulted in a morning trip to the ER..he is now on tons of meds and the cat stays outside from now on. I won't show a pic of his eye...He looks like someone hit him and gave him a shiner!

RIP~ Fluffy the Barn Cat

What a sad start to a otherwise beautiful day, this morning the girls walked outside for the bus at the end of the driveway to be told by our next door neighbor boy that our fav. barn cat had been hit by a car..Fluffy adopted us about a year 1/2 ago and has been at our door just about every day for dinner in the laundry room and a little nap before heading back out. Tomorrow we will lay her to rest.

The girls are very upset so today I'm off to surprise them at lunch with MCD's at school.

I love living out in the country but I'm starting to hate that road, people drive way to fast for my liking.

Blue Pottery and Roosters~Perfect!

I'm so excited I can hardly sit still!! I have been wanting to blend my Rooster collection in with my Blue pottery collection and I wasn't having any luck with my searching thru catalogs, tonight I couldn't sleep so I was browsing on Etsy and OH...MY...GOSH..Look what I found for my kitchen!! I'm in heaven, it's a lovely set from Christensoncreations.etsy.com.

SSSHHHHHHH..DH is sleeping and doesn't know yet, He laughs at my Roosters..lol..

Today was a very stressful day, I had to take lil guy into the urgent care because of ear pain, poor guy woke up at 6 am crying and couldn't sleep, He has an ear infection and is on meds now..Finally had him go to bed early and he is sleeping well. Abigail is starting to cough bad again too so I'm sure she will develop something nasty also. Crystal is so far in the clear.

Well, I think I can rest easy now..lol..A little on-line shopping to get me sleepy!

Is Americana a Thing of The Past?

I was on HGTV's RMS and saw a lovely Americana decorated living room, some Lady enjoys Americana, like I do, and was brave enough to post her pics..Well, many ppl on there were not very nice and one person even said that Americana was a thing of the past and NO ONE decorates in Americana anymore. So last night I was thinking..When is showing/decorating in the Red,White and Blue out of date? When is showing how proud we are of the United States of America so untrendy?

With today bringing in a New President and the promise of change, We need to be proud of our Country and the freedom that it has!

Organizing and Bloody Nose Scare

I can't believe it's been so long since my last post. I have been busy with the 3 kids, last Thurs. and Friday there was no school due to weather and today is the Holiday, everyone is home but we are busy cleaning and organizing and dusting! This morning was very scary for me as my Lil guy had a bloody nose and every time he coughed (he has a cold too) it would run worse, It was just dripping down his face and I was so ready to run him into the ER but after making him stay still and hold his head back and another dose of cough meds it seems to be stopped for good...He always gets these bloody noses in the Winter.

Here is our lil bookcase next to the fireplace..it's a thorn in my side..the kids store their coloring books on the shelf but it's always a huge mess. We found a desk for Abigail months ago so today we moved all the coloring books and just stuff into her room and got it organized in her new desk. Now when there are guests over this looks so much better and it's easier to close the bedroom doors..lol.. I know that the very top shelf is bare, I can't reach it and not sure what to put up there.
