Almost Amish~ A Book Review

Proving the Simple Life Isn't So Simple After All
Overcommitted and overwhelmed, Julie Charlton is at the breaking point. She knows she should feel blessed as a mother and wife--but she just feels exhausted. And then, the miraculous happens. Her sister-in-law Susan, a Martha Stewart-in-training, lands the chance to participate in a reality TV series about trying to live like the Amish and needs another family to join her. It's just the break Julie needs.
But the summer adventure in simple living soon proves anything but simple. With the camera watching every move, Susan's drive for perfection feels a lot like what they left behind, while Julie suddenly finds herself needing to stand up for slowing down. Whether it's cooking, cleaning, or dressing differently, each new Amish challenge raises new complications...and soon each woman learns unexpected lessons about herself and her family.

~I enjoyed reading this book for it's easy to follow plot , right now we are so busy I can only read 1 or 2 chapters a night. This is a wonderful, heart-warming book about a Family and the growing together they experience in 3 months time.~

I was sent this book to read and review and all opinions are my own.

New Kitchen Scale!

I have wanted one of these for such a long time and last night while browsing CraigsList I saw her.

Waited till this morning to call the nice lady and drove to pick it up, worth the drive and the money, which was only $20.00, She wanted $15.00 but we only had a $20.00 on us and really I am so excited about the price I couldn't care less...I have seen these so much higher in Antique stores around here in FL.

Now I'm searching out ways to decorate with her, She needs a piece of clothe under it and maybe something else ontop, I'm afraid one of the kids will knock over my Fav. Rooster and break it.

What do you think?

Side Note~ Due to way to much SPAM I have turned on what I hope will stop it so Please take the time to leave me a comment still!

2013 Ford Escape~New Car

My 2007 Mountianeer's transmission was on the fritz and it would cost us a small fortune to rebuild it. After much thought and some talking and then Praying about it we went to go look at a few cars.

It turned out to be a great deal for us to trade in my car and get the 2013 Ford Escape.

I LOVE this car!!

The Widow of Saunders Creek~2013 Book Review

A grief that knows no boundary.
A love without any limit.
A need that doesn’t end at death.

Corrie Saunders grew up in a life of privilege. But she gave it all up for Jarrod, her Army husband, a man she knew was a hero when she vowed to spend her life with him. She just didn’t expect her hero to sacrifice his life taking on an Iraqi suicide bomber.

Six months after Jarrod’s death, Corrie retreats to the family home her husband inherited deep in the Missouri Ozarks. She doesn’t know how to live without Jarrod—she doesn’t want to. By moving to Saunders Creek and living in a house beloved by him, she hopes that somehow her Jarrod will come back to her.

~This was a touching book to read and it saddened me as I could see my Mom in Corrie. My Mom lost my Dad in a freak accident and he was not in the Army. My Sister was until recently in the Army with her Husband and she did have fears about this type of situation happening to her and Thank Goodness it has not. I really liked the ending and am glad that Corrie moved on and....LOL..I wont spoil it for you...It's worth a cozy cup of tea and blanket!~

I received this ebook free from Waterbrook Press through their Blogging for Books program. I was not required to give a positive review, just an honest one which I have done. The opinions stated are my own.
