Evergreen Plantation in Dining Room

Hello! How was your Labor Day?

We had a great holiday, my Mother visited and we celebrated her birthday. It's always a fun visit when she can make it, little shopping and good food!

Friday my Husband had the day off and surprised me with a nice purchase. Kirklands had a wonderful sale going on and we took advantage (Thanks to my Husband). We have been eyeing this large framed picture of the Evergreen Plantation for many months. We were able to bring it home safely which was fun trying to get it in husband's car. Husband even was able to hang it with very little trouble, surprising since it is quite large. I have loved this picture of the Evergreen Plantation in Louisiana for a long time, I highly suggest you google the name and browse through the many pictures of this beautiful place.  It matches our buffet from Havertys perfectly and for the holidays I'll decorate it simply so as not to take away from the gorgeousness of it.

July Favorites

The month of July was filled with tons of favorite buys! Mostly for our 3 kids since school is right around the corner.

Abby has discovered Vera Bradley this year and we bought her first Vera Bradley item, a backpack for school with a few accessories to finish the collection off. The pattern is called "Pink Swirls". I believe it's a retired pattern.

We ran into Claire's to pick up one cute Pair of earrings to start the schoolyear and came out with a few more items, girls sure can talk me into things, haha.

I wanted to peek into Yankee Candle and sniff the new Fall candles and came home with these 2!

Really enjoying the Farmer's Market! I know, I know, here in FL we don't have an Autumn/Fall season but this girl is going to pretend in this house!

Hello to you! 

I hope that you are doing well and forgive me for neglecting this blog for so long. Life is just keeping me too busy! I have a personal goals of sharing more with you all. I will start a monthly " Favorite Purchases", just a few of our favorite purchases for the month. Let me know if this is something you would like to see.

Recently I was given the opportunity to review the Influenster Goddess VoxBox. It was full of goodies that I haven't tried yet. I have a quick video if you prefer to watch it.

Teen Bedroom Makeover

With Abigail in her Teens now, she certainly has her own ideas and opinions on how she would like things to be.

We try to accommodate her when we can. She wanted a more grown-up looking bedroom this year. So...begone her mixed colors and patterns.

We ran to BigLots and found a nice Black and White comforter for her new Full size bed. We also ran over to Dollar General for these black and white baskets that I saw last month...as of today my local store still had a few.

We bought these two nightstands from a local FB page and transformed them with some white spray paint last week. I love how the new handles give the set a new fresh, updated look.

Now we are on the lookout for Pillows to add color.

So what colors would go best with this set for a Teens room, Ideas?

Kitchen Command Center

I needed a command center somewhere in our house. This wall in our kitchen will do nicely!

My MIL gave us this lovely gold frame and we already had the cork board. Husband just trimmed the side a tad and we never spent any money!

We always gravitate in our kitchen after school, late night snacking and just talking with friends so I knew I wanted it to be placed where we were constantly planning our weeks.

With our 3 kids and Husband's busy travel schedule I needed to keep organized and the kids needed something to check off their chores.

I'm still wanting to add something to each side but I'm not sure what.

Any suggestions?

The Search Has Ended...

The Search for the perfect couch pillows has ended!

I walked into Bealls Outlet while they were putting their new merchandise on the shelves and I immediately grabbed these 4 matching pillows. New Year, new look! I'm going for French Country mixed with traditional decor in 2016.

I will be adding plants in cream vases, I have already spotted a few possibilities from Hobby Lobby.

Christmas morning

Christmas morning was perfect!

The kids received just about everything that was on their list this year.

We had a great time visiting with family.

Santa Can See Us

I love a rooftop lined in white lights and this year is the first year in such a long time that we have done it.

We hope to add more lights tonight.

The location is perfect this year, we can see it from all areas in the house and the lights shine through the front door!

I love the softness of the candles early in the evening now. I'm not sure what I will put on top of this table after the Holidays.

I added the vase and eucalyptus.

I think it adds a nice touch to the grouping.

I moved the cabinet to this wall and today I pulled items from various other rooms to make this Christmas vignette.

We love how it looks as you walk in the front door.

Together Again

As it turns out...

Moving to OH is not in our future for our family at this time. Husband is driving home as I type this. Job was not what was introduced or explained to husband and after talking to his old workplace whom will happily take him back, we are staying in FL and will make the most of it!

It's all in God's hands.

Apart but Together

Husband has made it to OH and is settled into his temporary housing.

The kids and I Skype with him nightly but I'm ready to find a house and get settled.

We want to decorate for Christmas!

Going Backwards.....

Big exciting news!

If you have been reading my blog for some time now than you know how we felt about leaving OH about 5 years ago...our house, family and friends....due to the economy, job loss and many of you were going through your own situations that made you stronger in the end.

Almost 5 years later and we have the chance to go back!

My Husband has received a wonderful job offer that we will be accepting and moving back to cooler temps, changing seasons and white Christmases!

We should be settled into our new house by Thanksgiving!

We are beyond excited for another chapter in our lives to begin!

If any of you are near the Central OH area Please share your fav. Country decorating store with me, I have a house to re-decorate!

Influenster Tastykake Voxbox

We received the Influenster Tastykake voxbox for our free review and last night after dinner we tried the mini cupcakes.

We were celebrating progress reports, All 3 are doing very well so far! Can you believe it's progress report time already?!

They were very good!

I also love the fact that they are portable and easy to add to the kids lunch boxes as a special treat.

My kids love that they are chocolate and they come in 2 other flavors, I'll have to hunt those down at my store.

Playing with Coffee Table Vignettes

It's raining here on this Thursday morning, I have to run to the grocery store but it sounds nice and I'm in the mood to finish Fall decorating!

Here is a peek at my coffee table decor. It looks so pretty at night too.  Not much but I have to be careful with 3 kids and 3 dogs running around.

The table runner and napkins are from a Country store in OH, I wish I had bought more while there since here in FL it's hard to find nice Country decor items.

White pumpkins are from Target many years ago and are hollow with lids.

Wine glasses are from Goodwill.

Plastic colored pumpkins are from Dollar Tree.

The rain has started again this afternoon so I'm back at decorating!

What a find! 

Here is my favorite purchase from August, found in a local FB selling site for only $30.00! It's rather large and can hold all of our old records. 

But then one rainy afternoon last week I moved it over here and we like it much better...

It's a great new addition to our living room!
