Thinking Christmas Yet?

DH wants me to ask when ya'll start to decorate for Christmas? Do you start the day after Thanksgiving or sooner?

We are getting excited and have started to listen to some Christmas music as we clean house already, It helps since it was so cold last night and will be very cold today here in Ohio.

Thanks for thoughts and prayers, I'm doing somewhat better this week so far!

Hi Heather,

I hope youre feeling better?

I start right after Halloween, this week I will have hubby bring everything down from the attic and will put it up a little at a time in between crafting. I host Thanksgiving here so I like my house to be decorated for Christmas then:)

Hey Heather,
I have always put my tree up by Thanksgiving. My mama always put her tree up on Thanksgiving and I try to continue that tradition. Sometimes it might be a little earlier, depends on how long I can hold out... giggle

Nice blog. Just found you this morning. Here in Canada we celebrate thanksgiving on Oct. 12th so to decorate for Christmas around then seems silly and we wouldn't have enough time to enjoy the fall decorations. My husband likes the tree up for the first advent, which is November 29th this year, but I often don't get it up till 2 weeks before Christmas. Because I help with church decorating and that has to be done for the first advent our home has to wait till that is done.

I do it Thanksgiving weekend...I rearrange and clean real good during the month of November..My kids will be coming home from college..They want to help decorate that weekend along with the Moose raising...My husband made a huge moose out a wood working pattern and it takes 4 to raise it...So they all want to do the moose raising. Everything is changing now the kids are in college and my son got married..new traditions will be starting and old ones continuing..I am excited about the holidays because we are going back to the basics of handmade and things that mean something to us...we don't want to run to Walmarts and just grab something.
I have been praying for you and have been following your blog..My goal right now is to comment on blogs that I have been reading, thank you for sharing.....Lisa

Hi Heather; I Pray that you get back to your spunky self soon, and the Dr. find out what is wrong and help you.. My two daughter's would probably kill me if I put up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving.... so I have to wait until the day after...lol; but it does get harder.... have a good week...

Hi Heather,

We start decorating Thanksgiving weekend. Usually on Friday I start gathering all my fall decor together and put it back in the boxes and then start on the Christmas decor. I too have been listening to Christmas music. We are practicing for our cantata at church so everytime I get in the vehicle it is playing and has been for over a month!

I remove all signs of fall during the last week of Nov. and switch out all Christmas (winter) dishes with the standard white. They are easily accessible in the kitchen and we can use them all season. Once those jobs are out of the way,I can get on with the Christmas decorating.Side note the music starts after Canadian Thanksgiving.
