We are missing our first snow fall and our lovely fireplace, today I'm reminiscing.

Can You See It ? Our New Find For Winter!

I'm so Sorry this is a dark pic but it's raining cats and dogs here right now!

We drove by this huge sled for sale for $20.00, We offered $15.00 since that's what we had after grabbing ice cream and they accepted! It's a lovely old wooden runner sled about as tall as me and was made in Medina OH!

OH the fun we will have this Winter sledding down our hill!

5 Days No School due to TOO MUCH SNOW!!

What do you do with 5 days (Monday is the 5th day) no school? You play alot!!! You clean if your a Mom too and that's just what we did. I started with Abigail's room and moved her desk to under her window and went thru her toys again..they must multiply at night under the bed!! I need to finish spray painting her dresser knobs purple. We are making do with what we have right now until we find the perfect furniture (i.e. AFFORDABLE) for this little princess. She was proud of her clean room and she loves to pose. Monday is Crystal and Tankers turn, I'm dreading Tankers room cuse of all his little cars!

I ran to Krogers before the snow moved back in and they were Tripling the coupons so I grabbed some fun stuff and some items that I rarely buy but was a good price with the coupon special. I had already put away the fridge items when I snapped this pic, I even received a 4.00 off coupon on my next shopping trip! It's a learning process for me but I do enjoy the challenge of saving every penny I can.

 

We had a little Birthday Party for Crystal, she turned 11!! She only wanted to invite her best friend over to sled down our hill so we had a little cake/ice cream and they played outside the rest of the time. It was a great Saturday!

The news says school is cancelled again for tomorrow, more cleaning and playing for us! Not sure if DH is going to try to make it in to work, We are at a level 2 snow emergency already and the snow is supposed to continue till 6am Tues.

Here is the link to my video that I filmed yesterday, it is not very long 2:10 minutes. At the end you see some birds fighting at my bird feeder. The video is just too big for Blogger to upload.

We have another snow day today so along with folding laundry I have a date with 2 girls to paint some toenails with Glitter polish..lol..I'm painting my fingernails too..Glitter polish is FUN!!

I took a video of my walk back from the barn but that's going to have to wait till DH gets home to help me, it just won't upload to Blogger for me, any advice?

Fun In The Snow!

We've been busy playing in the snow! DH Richard took the kids outside and built this happy lil fellow while I made hot chocolate and ran outside to snap a pic.

Ice Snapshots Around Our House

While outside feeding Hoss, who is warm in his stall, I walked around and took some pics, the sun is trying to shine..no warmth but still sun..lol..It's supposed to get down to 0 again tonight. I can't feed the bird's cuse the ice is covering the tops and my DH has to take the truck cuse he couldn't get out of the driveway, as you can see..lol..The driveway is almost blocked by hanging pine trees, the ice is so heavy! I love the pic of my Willow tree all covered in ice. The kids are home again and we are staying warm and coloring.










So far we have never lost our power. I hope that those that have no power gets theirs on soon, It's so cold outside and we have wind gusts up to 25 mph today.

Whatcha Working On Wed. ~ Snow/Ice Storm

This is what I hope to work on today if we still have power, It's a nice burgandy mirror that I want to clean up and paint on the bottom "Faith~Family~Friends" in a nice Tan color.





This is us today, level 2 Snow Emergency so far..Ice and now heavy snow..I'm hoping that the power stays on, there is no way I could drive us to my Mom's house in town. It's very loud outside as the wind hits the trees, pops and cracking.

Surgery Update, Homefront, 1 book down..Easy Start to the Week

Yesterday My MILs DH went thru his Bypass Surgery very well, It was a 5 hour surgery and around 6:00 my DH called me to tell me that he was in recovery and all was well. He will be in the Hospital for another week and then sent home..Please keep my MIL in your thoughts and prayers as she helps him recover and gain his strength back.

On the Homefront, DH has been at his new job for a week now, leaving before anyone is up and coming home after the kids are already in bed. The first week was rough as the kids were missing Dad and knew that he wasn't going to be here for dinner so they were pushing my buttons! It's like we have to learn a whole new routine, homework..chores..dinner..slow down time..bed..and then the house is so "still" for a while. I need some more "Fun" recipes for dinner the kids say...Any ideas?

I also finished the first book "Twilight" in the Vampire series and started the second book last night, I'm very surprised at how much I am enjoying these, I wasn't sure I would since it's more for the Teen scene.

It's really snowing now and it is going to get VERY COLD here in a few days...It's pretty looking outside but I'm not looking forward to getting out there and feeding HOSS.

A Morning of Play!

This morning was so bright and sunny out, still only 27 degrees but we just couldn't resist. We bundled up everyone, animals included and played outside! We are now sipping hot chocolate and enjoying the rest of this beautiful Sunday!

My Lovely Wall Hanging

Here is a Wall hanging that my Mom made for me Thanksgiving 2007, I have it hanging in my Kitchen. I think that it's adorable hanging from a twig and I love the saying "Thank God for the Gifts you were Given and Learn to Live Within Your Harvest".

So now all of this snow is melting and we are swimming in Mud! The kids/dogs don't want to go outside and my daily walks to go feed/check on Hoss is horrible, slippery and icky.

I'm spring cleaning and re-decorating and collecting lotsa books. I saw 2 Robins this morning and the cardinals are singing!

WOW, We have gotten prob. 12 to 15 inches of snow within the last 2 days and tonight it's blowing like crazy, the kids had a blast playing in it today but it was a crazy walk from my back door just to the barn. We are under a level 3 snow emergency (which means that we CAN NOT leave the house unless an emergency) and tomorrow Hubby leaves for a week to Atlanta GA for a training class and yes, he is driving...We have to watch the news tonight to see how long the Level 3 stays. I wanted to start a new stitchery but the kids wouldn't settle down today so I got to start a new book instead. All of my laundry is done and the house smells so good, chilli and chocolate cake...Tomorrow I hope to take it easy, a full week ahead with Hubby gone.
