Should I Stick to Stitching?

Here is my attempt at painting first time ever, I found the time this weekend. Should I sand and start over? Would you hang this in your house? Be honest...lol..

Whatcha Working On Wed. ~ Snow/Ice Storm

This is what I hope to work on today if we still have power, It's a nice burgandy mirror that I want to clean up and paint on the bottom "Faith~Family~Friends" in a nice Tan color.





This is us today, level 2 Snow Emergency so far..Ice and now heavy snow..I'm hoping that the power stays on, there is no way I could drive us to my Mom's house in town. It's very loud outside as the wind hits the trees, pops and cracking.

Whatcha Working On Wed.

Morning All..I have been busy browsing on-line for good books on Saving Money, Reducing Grocery Costs and activities that families can do here at the house and around town..It's getting way to cold to run to the parks. SO far I have found just one book at my library that I'm going to pick up. Please share with me your cost-cutting books if you know of any.

I'm thinking of bringing out Christmas and decorating just to get my mind off of our finances. We haven't told the kids yet about DH being laid off of work but last night was DH's last day and he came home full of stress and worry and was very depressed. He hid in his man cave most of the night sending off resumes. Ladies, what do you do when your guy is very depressed..for whatever the reason..do you try to talk him out of his depression or let him work it out himself? I have tried telling him that it wasn't just him that lost the job/money it was us and we are in this together. The not knowing is the hardest part though. Esp. since the economy is bad..not very many business's are hiring right now.

I am continueing to clip coupons and I have re-discovered the Library, In the past I had just grabbed a book at the store but now I'm writing down the titles and grabbing them from the library.

I'm also thinking about trying my hand at more DIY Crafts..What kind of paint do ya'll use for simple signs..I want to make some for my house.

Well, It's not an exciting week or fun post but this is what I'm working on at the moment..lol..

Abigail's Painted Dresser and a New Find

Here is Abigail's painted dresser, We sanded and scrubbed this dresser that we got for FREE from Freecycle...I LOVE Freecycle!! We only had about 5 drawer pulls so we painted those up her fav. color Purple..We still need to grab some more.. She is so happy! The color is Meijers Antique White.

We found her desk at a garage sale for $10.00...This piece is still waiting to be painted and we are going to match the nobs to the dresser.

The matching lamps my MIL bought..They fit better in Abigail's room then my Buffett in the kitchen.

I hope that everyone enjoys their Weekend. We have plans to finish the fence up to the barn. Please hold the rain off for us..lol..

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

I have been busy hanging pics and organizing, I have this weird thing about hanging pics, I want it to be perfect and until I know it will be or get fed up I won't hang anything, I buy stuff to hang and it sits till the urge strikes...well...this week I have had enough of looking at bare walls in my house! We still have to finish painting but atleast the echo is less in here now! I love Americana and am trying to collect it and change out my non-Americana items, I slow process since funds are tight but I'm willing to barter my pillows and have asked around..so far I have gotten some Adorable items! So take a peek at my walls now!


Love how this wall turned out and you can see the yellow that we have started, It will go around the whole living room soon.
I added the hearts yesterday..the ribbin on the hearts matches the blue lampshade. Under the pics/hearts I'm waiting on DH to help me hang my Americana shelf.
Here is a sign that is on my list to get changed out, I REALLY want an "Pledge of Allegiance" sign in Blue...I'm on the Hunt...LOL.. This one will then move to my kitchen.
Here is my "Pay It Forward" that I got in the mail...ADORABLE! I'm fixing a fall basket and this little guy is going in it to sit on my buffet.

Update on Coffee~ After a rough day yesterday not feeling well she is running all over the house today and her ears are perked up! I'm having a blast taking her out every 5 mins. for potty breaks..NOT...LOL..

Tomorrow is Crystal's first day of 3rd grade! We are running out to find her a few new shirts later this afternoon. She is excited!

Memorial Day and Surgery

We were busy Memorial Day Weekend..Crystal picked out the colors of her room, Wal-Mart's Fluffy Pink! We are "Horseying" this up with as much as we can. It's a small room because this house has 3 bedrooms so DH built Crystal's room out of our strange dining room/living room...It was wasted space that is now put to good use! I will post finished pics as we work on her room.

DH cam thru his Gallbladder Surgery with no complications, He came home and is eating and walking around the house with little pain, Today he is alittle more sore than he was last night so we hope tomorrow will be better. G'ma came to help with the kids and slept over, this morning I cooked pancakes and we lounged around in our PJ's till 3 pm!! Very unusual for all of us to do this.

I am looking forward to summer, We are planning a few Lake Days and lots of Library visits. I'm trying to think of activities that we can do here at home.
