Bullying and Homeschooling...Choices We Make....

Today will not be a Decorating post. It's a Life post, another new chapter in our lives.

One that we hope will be for the best and help our Daughter out in so many ways.

So yesterday started off at 11:00 with 3 texts from our oldest in 8th grade middle school for me to come now and pick her up at school because of 4 girls that were wanting to fight her at lunch, same girls that has caused us much tears this year due to Drama, I go to the school and talk to daughters advisor only to learn that there is nothing they can do other than have daughter write out a statement about the threats to her and the girls will be "interviewed". Long story short today was the "straw that broke the camels back" and both Husband and I were on the same page on pulling her out today. Our daughter has cried and her attitude has changed for the worst over this ever since the beginning of school this year. This is not the worst case of Bullying I have seen/heard of but we do feel like it is a form of Bullying and we are very upset that the school has Shrugged our concerns off. Our first step tomorrow is to call the FL Virtual School and start the process of Virtual School and see how Daughter does. Our other 2 kids will stay in Public till we get oldest settled with this. We are starting the paperwork for Virtual School, which is classes on-line from the comfort of our home. We will get incontact with a Homeschooling group here in our town and go to the events and Hopefully we will see a change in oldest daughters behavior. Part of me is excited to start this new chapter and see how we do but part of me is also nervous about if I can even do this and if we have made the right choice for our daughter's future...So much to think on..

Do any of you Homeschool, Please share your story with me here or feel free to Private Message me.

I Love to Decorate But...

I'm feeling like I have too much Clutter on my Counters. I have been purging and re-arranging like mad. This morning while cooking breakfast I had no room for plates.

Here are my results so far...
I still need to work on the counter next to my Keurig tomorrow while everyone is gone for the day.

Still not ready to let go of the Rooster glass cutting board, when my kids were younger I taught them to put all juice cups and glasses on it and to this day all 3 do this.

I would like to find a wide enough basket to add to this arrangement at some point, I'll know it's "the one" when I see it.

Already it's feeling better in here. I omitted the Fruit bowl, it was just too large for my small kitchen and I will be putting our fruits in the fridge from now on. I also omitted some items that were very pretty to look at but didn't really serve a purpose.
Do you have those?

New Kitchen Vignette

This table in our Kitchen alcove is giving me fits. One day I thought I had it nicely done and then the next day I look at it and think something is "off" .....

Here in FL we missed Spring and slide right into Summer.. It's 90 outside! So with it being so Hot I decided to forgo trying to plant new flowers and instead work on this table...

Mmm.. I'm liking the Fruit themed table runner for my new French Country theme but something still seems "off".

Here is a close-up of the Fabric on my runner..

So Please help me out and pass me some Fresh ideas, What do you Recommend?

What I'm Reading in April

I'm enjoying browsing through these Beautiful pictures in the new Cottage Journal  magazine and the articles are full of some nice decorating ideas.

Nora Roberts second book in the Cousin O'Dwyer Trilogy has come out, I hope this one is easier to understand the language.

I'm most excited to load up my Kindle Touch with some great Ghost stories to read in the car and late at night though. I love the smell and weight of a good book in my hands but afterwards is becoming a problem, what to do with the book after I'm finished. Our small house is feeling cramped this Spring and my Kindle is helping me with this by storage.

What are you Reading this month?

Shopping the Drugstore

Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser
Recently I ran out if my expensive face wash that I have to either drive to the Mall to buy or order on-line and wait. My oldest daughter has ran out of her face wash so I knew that it was time to run to the store.

I was in CVS and after standing in the aisle for a very long time browsing all of the new products that have come available to us, I picked up my old stand-by in a new form. I used to use Biore as an early teen.

After having used this for alittle over a month I'm pleased and surprised to find that my skin likes it. No harsh peeling or itchyness plus no crazy breakouts! I don't find my skin getting overly oily in the afternoons either like with some over the counter soaps.

My daughter likes it also!

Nope, not a Sponsored post by Biore, I'm just really pleased with this new face wash that I don't have to drive very far to buy!

What new Drugstore products have you noticed?

Spring has Sprung

It's warming up here in FL. Each new day the temps rise and it's the perfect time to start opening up the windows and get your gloves ready for planting flowers.
I have bought a little Herb Planter for my kitchen window, lots of sun shining through here in the afternoons.
I bought this at Home Depot for under $8.00. Now I have fresh Basil, Oregano and Parsley.

I moved my Ponytail plant over here and it seems to like this little wall so far.
Next weekend we plan on buying some flowers for our outside patio but for now we are back to school after a nice Spring Break.

What houseplants, if any, do you have?
