Mom's New Little Toy

The Asus Eee PC is a subnotebook/netbook computer by Asus and a part of the Asus Eee product family. At the time of its introduction in late 2007, it was noted for its combination of a light weight, Linux operating system, solid-state drive and relatively low cost. Newer models have added the option of Windows XP operating system and traditional hard disk drives. Newer models have also increased in price, though they remain relatively inexpensive as laptops, and notably inexpensive for ultra-small laptops.

According to Asus, the name Eee derives from "the three Es," an abbreviation of its advertising slogan for the device: "Easy to learn, Easy to work, Easy to play".

DH brought this home today since he also got one for his new job. I'm getting used to it, It's the cutest smallest thing evveerr!!

Have any of you seen these or have one? How do you like it?

I'm hoping to be posting more and finally picking up my Stitching again. This summer has been rough on us due to job loss and then loss of my vehicle. I still have no vehicle but the house is clean. DH is back to work and is settling in okay, we aren't liking the fact that he gets home so late again but it's only been 2 weeks. The girls are back in school and doing really well, lil guy is finding out that he CAN play without them.

I hope that my next post will be full of stitching!

My Fav. Author has a NEW book out and I Can't Put It Down

Diana Gabaldon,
the Outlander novels,
and An Echo in the Bone

An Echo in the Bone is the seventh novel in the wildly popular, NYT #1 bestselling, internationally award-winning Outlander series—described by Salon.com as "the smartest historical sci-fi adventure-romance ever written by a science Ph.D. with a background in scripting Scrooge McDuck comic books."

The striking thing on the cover is a caltrop (and not, as one wit suggested to me, a Celtic chicken-foot).

You see that the caltrop has four tines? Well, there are four storylines in this book, past and future, welded together by the heat of the American Revolution—and every one of 'em has a sharp point.

I love these books and was surprised when Hubby brought it home for me, this is her 7th in the series and I have all of them now. This Winter when we are snowed in I'll re-read them but for now I've got my nose buried in this one.

Have any of you read any of these? What do you think of them?

Sept. 11 2009 ~ We will always remember 8 Years Ago

I am praying for many families today, some are lost due to this tragic day and some are mourning. I just got done watching some video clips from this day with my oldest DD who is 10, She knew that something happened but not the whole story. Maybe the schools should talk more about this today?

I Just Couldn't Wait Any Longer for Fall..Fall on my Blog

It's Aug. 1st!! Now I like Summer but my fav. season has got to be Fall..Crisp air and snuggling in a sweater, warm candles in the house, fresh picked apples and getting the fireplace ready for a nice evening fire...NICE!!

What do you like about Fall?

Today I've spruced up my Blog and have deleted my Etsy site..It's not doing so great and so my crafts will become gifts..I feel okay about it..Etsy is full of prims now. Might close my Book Blog too as it seems to have not picked up any new interest..I'm okay with that too.

You can read more here on this great camp.

This year both Crystal and Abigail got to go to camp, 3 days 2 nights of fellowship and learning about GOD. They both had a blast and came home so sleepy.

This year Richard is helping out by running the cameras and learning the soundboard, next year I'll help out since they do have babysitting for the younger kids..Tank has 2 years before he can attend.

I'm working on a big project for the girls and will post as soon as I finish, this is going out of my comfort zone but is turning out so sweet!!

He Has His First Client!!!!

This morning my DH Richard had a meeting with a Funeral Director about Richard's new business and the outcome was wonderful! We are in business!! The Funeral Director will have AltarCall on hand for a year!

AltarCall will allow for those that can't travel for a funeral to call and listen to the service LIVE!!

Richard has already helped out a co-worker this way and the Family was so pleased with how it turned out for those that could not fly in for the Funeral.

You may read more here about Richard's business...http://www.altarcallministries.com/

What a July 4th Blast!!

We left early Friday morning for G'mas house, after a long 8 hour drive we arrived early and have been busy since! We went to the Space and Rocket Center and walked around outside cuse sadly the tickets to get inside were out-of-this-world expensive for a family of 6! We went to Aunt Kathie's for a BBQ pool party followed by the best fireworks I have seen EVER, everyone in her neighborhood were setting off fireworks and not the tiny ones that are allowed here in OH..the good stuff..lol..Lottsa good food,Good family and fun for all. We had one boo-boo where Abigail fell on the drive-way so they bandaged her up and got her laughing again. Crystal gets to spend a whole week with G'ma and I'm missing her already! We are home safe and I'm trying to get caught up on laundry. Here are some random pics of our fast trip!
