Christmas Re-Cap

Christmas was a very nice time here at the Graves Household, both G'mas came over along with my sister and even though there were moments of drama mixed in, the kids had a great time. I decided to not film them opening their presents this year like I have done last year because I got some very rude comments about how we had not given the oldest daughter enough presents..I'm not going to even acknowledge them since my oldest daughter is very happy!

We went over to my Step-Sister's and helped her bake/frost cookies and we had a blast!

We ate and ate and today I'm happy that Husband bought me a new bike so we can step up our riding this year! I'm having a great time riding with Husband, great excercise and we get to spend time together outside, something I have missed since moving from the farm.

On Christmas day my Scentsy lightbulb blew out and I bought a Wal-Mart Limited Edition Peppermint candle and we were so disappointed in the scent throw of this candle, even being in the same room with it and we could hardly smell it. What are your fav. store bought candles? I can't always run to BBW for their Slatkin candles or Yankee Candle store.

I leave you with a few pics that I was able to grab with my Iphone as the kids were grabbing seconds of Christmas dinner and one of us at my Step-Sisters frosting cookies.

"Lost In Austen" and Welcome to Febuary-WWW Movie

Lost In Austen
Jemima Rooper stars as Amanda Price, the frustrated romantic who discovers a gateway in her flat to her favourite world - the world of Pride and Prejudice. But is the “true” story in danger of being thrown off track by her presence? Starring: Jemima Rooper as Amanda Price; Alex Kingston as Mrs Bennet; Hugh Bonneville as Mr Bennet; Elliot Cowan as Fitzwilliam Darcy; Morven Christie as Jane Bennet; Tom Riley as Wickham; Perdita Weeks as Lydia Bennet and Gemma Arterton as Elizabeth Bennet.

Have you seen this movie yet? I watched this movie and just fell in Love with the characters, clothes and the beautiful scenery! It was on my Netflicks instant download and it's about 3 hours long, it was a made for t.v. mini-series. The perfect movie for such a dreary, cold couple of months.

I wanted to Thank You my bloggy Friends for such kind words last month when we were going thru some Health issues, Richard is back to work regularly now and we are keeping to the Fish (Salmon) and rice diet for him as of now...wish there were more recipes for Salmon but I think I have them all. The kids are staying Healthy for now and I'm so glad for that, staying ontop of the bleaching and killing germs everywhere!

Last night we sold my non-working van to a mechanic...We have much needed cash but now I'm really without a car...My Mom is helping get me to the grocery store when she can and I do lots when Richard is home, Not sure how long I'll be without a car but God will see us through!

I'm using this home time to go thru the closets and clutter and get it out of the house, there is a local Thrift Store that does pick-ups and they just left with the first load, I feel so good about that!

Tonight for supper is home-made Pea Soup and Biscuits, Yum!!

Lazy Thurs. Night here at the Graves

I'll def. be on the couch at 8pm when this is on..One of my favs! Any one else watch this? Who is your fav. character?

It's Thursday night and the kids asked the dreaded Q.."What's for Dinner"...so I put these together..oh so easy for this tired Mommy..

Italian Chicken Strips

Ingredients:

1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan
1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Pinch of ground red pepper
8 boneless chicken breast halves, cut into 1/2-inch strips
1/2 cup (1-stick) melted butter
Marinara sauce or honey mustard, for dipping
Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

In a pie plate or platter, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan, thyme, basil, oregano, salt, garlic powder, and red pepper. Dip the chicken strips in the melted butter, then dredge them in the breadcrumbs mixture. Place the chicken strips in a single layer on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through. Serve the chicken sticks hot with marinara sauce, or serve hot or cold with honey mustard.

Abigail's first Day of School!

Yesterday was Abigail's first day of K and first day on the bus! It was a rainy gross day but she still wanted to wear her new skirt. We got her on the bus and Crystal is watching over her, I'm a nervous ninny about Abby on the bus and didn't go to far from the phone in case something happened at school. While the kids were at school Tankers and I played blocks, cleaned his room and played with his cars..watched boomerang and I had a relaxing time stitching while he sat next to me. I have to say that he has such a different personality than Abigail..not loud and so far not very demanding...I think he missed his Sissy too!

Tonight we go to the school and have Open House, thank goodness they split it up in 1/2 hour intervals for those of us that have multiple kids.

It's still rainy and cloudy..I'm making home-made beef stew today and will let it simmer all day.

Date Night

We are going out tonight to Dinner/Movie...We haven't decided on what movie to see as they all look good to me. My Sis is going to watch the kiddos and put them to bed, Her DH is even going to feed HOSS for us so that we can go into town early! It has been rainy and cold, the snow is melting and is slushy but I've heard cardinals singing outside today on my birdfeeder! Signs of Spring, I'd love to see sunshine again!

Have a Wonderful weekend Blogger Friends, I know I'll have a great start to it!
